When I was last in New York one of the things I did was meet up with Dutch top model Cato van Ee. Cato and I grew up in the same city and share thousands of friends but funnily enough, before now, we never actually met. The first thing I did was ask her about her guilty pleasures so here they come.

What song do you keep out of sight on your iPod?

“Yes, well I’m not really like that. Everyone can ask me anything. But I’m still a huge Backstreet Boys-fan and I love I Want It That Way. If ever given the opportunity I’d still like to go to a concert.”

What do you secretly do when you’re home alone?

“Well, when home alone I usually walk around naked, but I do that when my roommates are home too. I’ m considerate enough to put something on if other people are in the house but I personally don’t care if they see me. I love walking around naked, all oiled up.”

What TV show do you secretly watch?

“I don’t actually watch TV. Yes, I am addicted to Expedition Robinson but that’s not something to be ashamed of, is it? I do love those good old romantic movies. Last Saturday I watched Sleepless in Seattle when we came back from a night on the town. I’m more of a movie person I guess, I don’t really watch TV-series. I also saw Clueless recently, loved it.”

Secret crush?

“You mean human? A guy I really really like is Bill Murray, but I wouldn’t fall in love with him or jump into the sack with him anytime soon. But I’d love to have dinner with him, what a great guy. His sense of humor but I also like the way he looks, as if he’s always up to something mischievous. My preferable sack-sharing partner would be Jake Gyllenhaal. Just so you know I am very attracted to good looking men.”

Worst buy?

“Isabel Marant-boots, you know the high wedged ones with the fringe. Not really my worst buy because I have worn them but I’m just not that type. They have been in my wardrobe for over three years now and I’ve worn them about four times. Four very expensive times.”

Biggest blooper?

“Some time last year I was at a casting for Victoria’s Secrets. Not for the show by the way. The assignment said ‘Come in bra and a panty’. So I thought, weird, but okay. I wore a bra and pantyhose, literally a long black pair. But in English panty means underwear not tights. There I was in my pantyhose. Thank goodness I was wearing panties underneath them. And afterwards I got the job. All’s well that ends well.”

What did you want to be as a child?

“When I was very young, about 4 or 5 years old, I wanted to be a clown. Make people laugh, happy, seemed like a great job. Hang around at the circus; travel the world, yeah sure, perfect. If you take into account that modeling is not very different from working as a clown; lots of makeup, lots of traveling, entertaining people, yep, modeling is kind of clowny.”
