How to survive december
Isn’t it kind of absurd that the coldest month is the very last month of the year? You’re already exhausted and drained from working an entire year and the December comes rolling around and you have to end it with a bang. Downright unfair. But anyway, I’ve got a couple of tips and tricks to help you survive the month in flying colors.
Go Abroad
My remedy for pretty much anything: book a ticket to the sun. For anyone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, book a ticket for the 25th, prices are surprising low on that day. The same goes for the 31st. Don’t have the time or the money to book a faraway destination? Paris, London or Berlin are always a good idea too.
Cancel all of your appointments
Or as many as you can. Just spend the entire month of December sitting back and kickin’ it indoors wrapped up like a cocoon. My god that sounds divine. You might need to pop outside every now and then to stock up on some groceries. Or wait, scratch that, we live in the 21st century. We can just have everything sent home nowadays. Hello winter hibernation!
Buy something warm
As in: a very very warm vest so that any time the temperatures feel like the North Pole you can bundle up in your vest and forget that the temperature outside is -8000 degrees.
Indulge
If you don’t have any plans to jet off to some tropical island and walk around in a bikini, then eat whatever you want. Fitgirls always say “summer bodies are made in the winter” and we get it, but we’re just going to ignore that mentality this month.
Hang out by the fireplace
The entire day please. With a big glass of red wine and a Netflix show on repeat. December is the perfect month for this because no one is going to lock themselves up in the summer. Don’t have a fireplace at home? Just invite yourself over to friends who do have one or drop by a restaurant or café that has one.
