MAY-BRITT AND THE MODEL WORKOUT

– Which was almost the end of her –

I don’t know if I’ve ever fully detailed my love and hate relationship with the gym, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the gym and I are not meant to be. But by all means, don’t think I hate working out, because I do enjoy keeping my body in shape. Especially with the holiday food fests right around the corner.

When I received an invite as to whether I would be interested in participating in a workout at the W hotel in Amsterdam, I happily obliged. That way I could check off Amsterdam’s newest hot spot of my list – killing two birds with one stone. I became even more elated when Elke, who runs our International site, informed me that the coach would be Olivia Cooney. The London based babe who’s been whipping all the British celebrities into shape. And since we’d love the opportunity to work with Olivia on our English site, Elke joined along for the ride.

At exactly one minute to ten, my car came to a screeching halt right outside of the hotel. Elke was already there waiting for me and said “May, the only other people here are Elite models!” I could hear the state of despair in her voice. And although Olivia herself was completely toned and fit, it’s much easier to relate to her than 5’8 girls with size 0 waists. And so we were throwing around 10 kilo kettle balls, doing at least 100 push ups (not in a row, we’re nowhere close to being pro’s yet) plus a bunch of other workouts I had never done before and probably won’t be doing again for a while. Believe me, a week later and I’m finally over my soreness.

When the session was over, Elke and I had to drag ourselves down the staircase (while the models happily leaped out the door) to our car which was parked right out front. Completely beat but fulfilled we headed back to the office.
