The largest PLUS-SIZE MODEL ever

She is size 52 and 1,65 metres tall and has totally turned the fashion world upside down. Tess Holliday recently signed a contract with Milk Model Management and is to date the largest model ever signed up by a main stream modelling agency.

An agency scout in London discovered Tess on Instagram where she has a huge following, with more than 400.000 followers, which is more than most ‘regular’ models. “She is an example to many women”, according to the owner of the agency. And Tess calls it ‘a milestone in fashion history’, that a woman of her size may be seen. Something that she has been fighting for. She blew life into the hashtag #EffYourBeautyStandards, encouraging women all over the world to love their bodies, no matter how large or heavy.

This big mama entering the modelling world was not without criticism. Plus-size models usually have a maximum size 48 and are at least 1,70 metres tall. Tess is far over this. People are saying that she is unhealthy and obese and this should not be encouraged. The modelling agency is sure that their new show pony is healthy. “I’m very active. I go to the gym four times per week with a trainer, I swim and walk”, said the 29 year old model. In the mean time, Tess is working extensively and recently posed for Vogue Italia.
