It’s official; this is our last day of tour de Milan. I’m writing this in an idyllic romantic courtyard, surrounded by old high walls that remind me of a palace. The marble bistro tables are covered with white tablecloths and set with glistening wineglasses and silver cutlery mirroring the sun rays onto the white-aproned waiters that stealthily serve the terraced guests.
We started the day at Tosca Blue, a brand that makes affordable shoes and bags. Our next appointment is set for Bluemarine and Bluegirl, we’re meeting up in their showroom. A fine brand that has attracted our attention long ago but being face to face has definitely triggered a spark. I will tell you all about this coming Saturday, you don’t want ro miss this, the lookbook is to die for.
May enthusiastically slipped on her Jimmy Choos this morning but they were doing more damage than good after quite a bit of walking, so we stopped at a Patriza Pepe store for some relief. White leather espadrilles brought the spring back into May’s feet while the Choos were banished to spend the rest of the day in her dark bag, as punishment. My loyal L.K. Bennets are expertly trained (and worn), I could hold out for days. With happy feet we carry on to the restaurant for lunch.
Il Salumaio, that’s the courtyard I was describing. In the meantime we switched places and are back at the Diana Majestic catching some vertical sun in our favorite lounge chairs and typing (not easy but doable). Okay, yep, there’s a glass of white on our left.
We type our posts for the coming week and summarize our meetings, coming to the conclusion that this has been a successful trip, saluté (again). Then we’re on our way, into a cabbie back to our delightful hotel for a quick change into our flying gear and off to the airport we go.
That last part we did by bus by the way. A tenner gets you from the town center to Malpensa airport in 50 minutes, so if you’re visiting Milan anytime soon you know what to do. Ciao Milano, I’ll see you again in September.
