Our second day in Milan started at Tod’s headquarters. Behind a pair of gigantic doors we find a breathtaking hal with sky-high ceilings, marble everywhere, warm mahogany details and impressive picture frames showing the new Tod’s campaign.
A little authentic elevator that can barely fit the three of us takes us up to the most beautiful conference room you have ever set eyes on. Sofas with thousands of pillows to sink into, antique tables, windows all-around, coffee table books everywhere – just gorgeous. We were allowed to take pictures but not publish them. Sorry, some doors must remain closed.
After Tod’s we went over to Corso Venetia to do some window-shopping; among them Dolce & Gabbana. And there, there we found love. The store was filled with items made exclusively for them.
Bags, purses, shoes, jewelry, all unique and this was the only place in the world you could but them. There was one bag that was particularly unnerving; you can read about what happened here.
Having shaken off the Dolce itch we came across a Disney store a little further up the street. Of course we had to go in. May wanted to buy some gifts for her girls which left me staring at an Elsa-dress I was never going to fit into. I almost bought an Olaf, but could restrain myself. I waited in the kid’s corner while May filled her shopping basket, watching a very educational and informative movie on dogs.
We still had two hours to spend before our next meeting and decided to spend them in the Diana Majestica. A Mega impressive hotel with an especially mega impressive courtyard.
Draped on a luxurious lounge chairs situated beside a pond we ordered a glass of wine (maybe two) and a table full of edible delights. While typing our posts, every five minutes or so one of us stops and says, “ God, isn’t this heaven”.
We could have spent the rest of our lives there but we had to grab a taxi to our next meeting; with Gucci. After that it was Anthony Morato.
It was about six when we could return to the hotel for a quick freshening up before leaving for our chosen restaurant for the evening; Rosy e Gabriele.
If you are ever in Milan, this is the place to go. It’s really really Italian, without overdoing it, just good food. The service is friendly, may and I fell in love with our sweet puppy eyed waiter, who answered everything we said with: “spettaaaacolo”, which was definitely true about the food that was put before us, especially the pizza that came in the shape of a heart. (Sigh) I was like putty in his hands.
When we both filled to the crown we roll into a taxi and go back to the hotel. And just like yesterday I’m lying on my super soft hotel bed with my laptop, typing away. I just hope that my round pizza belly and I don’t roll out of bed. Fingers crossed. A domani!
