Sometimes it’s okay to bring out the Martha Stewart in you. It’s not only necessary for cleaning your kitchen cupboard or bedroom; your toilet bag needs the occasional upside down too, to clear out collected dirt and other filth. Think of it as a housing project for unwanted parasites and bacteria that went on behind your back.

Brushes, straitening irons and other hair tools need a good cleaning every now and then. The brushes fill up with stray dirty hairs and irons accumulate all those protective hair products, yuck. It doesn’t help your hair either. Just give it a good clean, remove the dirty hair; and your hair will get back that extra shine when using a clean brush.

You can’t create perfect makeup without the perfect tools. But these tools need maintenance because they get dirty and you don’t want to apply a dirty color to your face. And they’re pricy (if you choose quality that is), it would be a waste if they end up in the bin at the end of the year.

You use your hands for absolutely everything. So it’s not strange that you collect all kinds of dirt during the day. You can trim your nails to keep your nails in shape but those clippers also need the occasional cleaning. Just use some water and alcohol, this will work miracles and your nails will benefit as well.

Remember those sponges and pads you use to clean your face? And you use these in combination with soap and foam; meaning dead skin cells, makeup residue and sun products stay behind in your sponges and pads. Cleaning them can be a bit of a hassle but replacing them costs hardly anything and will keep your face fresh and clean.

Infected eyes are something you can easily catch and that doesn’t sound too good. That great lash curler you have has to be cleaned because bits of mascara can stick to the curler something bacteria consider a good thing.

No one only uses tweezers to remove some stray hairs. We use them on pimples, to remove splinters and to shape our lashes to name a few things. A good place for bacteria and friends to thrive. So give it a clean with alcohol and get rid of those little buggers.
