5 X why avocados are a must
Let me tell you, I have heard more differing opinions about the avocado than one could possibly imagine. Where the one yells that it’s mega fattening the other suggests that you eat at least five avocados per week. The latter is the group I belong to. On a rice cake, in a salad, along with a banana and blueberries in a blender or when I’m on the run just with a little lemon and salt.
If you believe the myths (and the fat-fear mongers), then I hope that after ready this little post your mind will be changed.
.
– You need fats. Preferably not the ones found in a slice of cake or fat from deep fried chicken wings. In avocado there are good fats that quickly make you feel full. This means that you can never eat too many of them and avoid binging. Thus keeping you slim.
.
– The Vitamin B which is found in avocados is a known mood booster.
– The avocado is also known as a good friend of the heart. It has high levels of potassium and helps protect again high blood pressure.
– Avocado contains beta-sitosterol and vitamin E. Forget the difficult name, you just need to know that it’s the stuff that encourages hair growth.
– In addition, this green friend is loaded with vitamin A, which helps to purify your skin and get rid of dead skin cells. The antioxidants that are also found in avocados, have a detoxifying effect and also work against aging.
Well, I’m sure you have now come around and seen the light and truth about the avocado? Run out quickly to the supermarket and grab yourself a few. Organic where possible.
