STD CONDOMS
Look this is what I call an invention that will make the world a better place. Or become a better place because I don’t think it’s on the market yet, but the idea is there. A British teenager won a Teen Tech Award for inventing condoms that change color when it comes in contact with a STD (sexually transmitted disease). Very handy!
So no more dicking around (ha-ha) with “Yes I’ve been tested, really”, just plain clarity. If the condom turns green you’re dealing with chlamydia, yellow means herpes, purple for human papillomavirus (HPV and I had really never heard of this one) and blue, lucky you, means you won syphilis.
All in all it’s rather surprising no one has come up with this before. And it’s weird that teenagers (13 and 14 years old, seriously) came up with the idea, but we’ll take it all in. The condom works, that’s the most important thing. For the time being it’s only an idea, but a condom factory has approached the boys and it might soon become a reality. As soon as we come to that, we’ll let you know.
