How to handle
– taking care of split ends –
Everybody is familiar with the split-ends problem right? No? Well aren’t you the exception. Especially now that fall is coming and dry hair is a seasonal hassle. Why? Hefty shampoo, to much blow drying, sun, stress any one of these or the fact that you just have dry hair. The solution? Little Miss Josselin will spell it out for you.
salon visit
You knew this was coming; the real solution is a visit to the salon. To keep your hair ship shape you have to have regular haircuts, around every six weeks. This will keep your hair healthy and in form. Looking for a longer coupe? Cut off those dead ends and it will grow better.
Washing and conditioning
Choose a shampoo that matches your hair needs. For dry hair you choose a nutritious shampoo that will care for your hair. For colored hair you choose a shampoo that will make your color last and also take care of your hair (coloring has a great impact on the state of your hair). Afterwards you apply a protective layer in the form of a conditioner or other care product. There are products that contain silicones, they bring split ends together and cover the hair with a thin layer. Not something you need to do with every washing as your hair will only get heavy and sag, not a good thing.
master brush
Good brushes keep your hair healthy. Therefore it’s worth the investment, go for the Rolls Royce among the brushes, they have real hairs that keep your manes soft and shiny. Brushes with metal pins are brutal. You don’t want brutal.
Ode to oil
Hair care is very important so it’s okay to go all out on some extra pampering once in a while. An oil mask for example. No olive oil though, way too heavy, but Argan oil or Macadamia oil is perfect. Apply a few drops to your hair, preferably the ends, leave it to do its work then rinse well. It will give you a great shine and glue those split ends together.
Swish swoosh styling
I understand you’re looking for the perfect curl or voluminous blow dry but it dries your hair out. Use serums that protect your hair from heat and always blow dry your hair downwards, the same direction as the hair cuticles, for a healthy look.
A shot a day
Eating healthy is not only for keeping a Victoria’s Secret-body in shape, models also do it for their hair. Your hair needs vitamin B to stay healthy and shine. Oranges and walnuts are an excellent source. And let’s be truthful here, there’s no punishment in an extra glass of freshly squeezed juice and a handful of nuts is there?
