Summer style
5 x Great summer hair
During the summer’s tropical temperatures we all tend to stick to a specific uniform at the office. Everyone has their hair up in a bun to avoid any sweaty or sticky hair. Everybody pretty much looks identical to our beauty editor Josselin. But hey, since that little bun really is her signature look, she’s here to give you a few new tips and tricks to get the ultimate summer coupe.
Braid
Braids are always a hit. Your face is guaranteed to be hair free, and if Elsa from Frozen pulled it off, so can you. If you have really really long hair you can try braiding upside down. Face your head to the floor with your hair dangling down and braid upwards. Sounds easy, but practice makes perfect, and I can tell you this look doesn’t need to be perfect. A messy braid can be very fun too.
Wetlook
Sounds like a logical step. Your hair is probably already sticky because of the sun, so brush it back with the help of a little bit of wax and it will stay out of your face. And incase you start sweating a tiny little bit, no one will ever notice it.
Twist it
Hands down my favorite hairstyle after a day at the beach since your hair will be stiffer because of the salty air, making this style super easy. This one is especially easy if you’re not a genius when it comes to braiding. You twist your hair piece by piece and use a shear pin or a hair tie to pin it down. If your hair is too smooth and healthy, use a little beach spray beforehand making it stiffer so it doesn’t fall out easily.
Ponytail
A ponytail gives your neck some room to breath (and feel fresh) and you have two different ways to go. You can either go for the Kim Kardashian look which is pulled back tight and slim with a little bit of volume on the top of your head. Eva Longoria has the best option for beach girls who already have a light curl giving you the undone effect.
Hair accessories
Of course there is always a middle ground. If you have bangs (which I am a true advocate of), then the summer isn’t truly ideal. By using a cute little headband you can hide it from your face. The rest of your hair you can just leave dangling or put it up in a bun. See I somehow always end up back with my signature bun.
