5 IT-BAGS

you love, want and need

I spent my weekend with two of the coolest Instagirls; Anna Nooshin and Yara Michels. Other than discussing our silly professions (Anna: “Everytime I’m posing in front of a camera I question what it is I am doing”) we reviewed which bags are making us antsy for the winter. We concluded that the list below will most definitely look good on you too. Ready to live off just bread and water for a month, ladies?

1. Miu Miu

A long, long time ago, Miu Miu bags were still rather affordable and the approachable sister brand of the dignified Prada. Emphasis on a long time ago. Nowadays it requires about a month’s rent for a nice little Miu Miu number. My tip; close your eyes and swipe that card. You can do it.

2. Valentino

An overdose of studs is not making a comeback, but Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazie Chiuri still like to refer back to that which is so innate for Valentino; the funky stud. They have striped colored versions (a great street style item) but the black version is timeless. And that’s probably what you want.

3. Louis Vuitton

These mini suitcase bags pay tribute to the origin of the house of Louis Vuitton, when old mister Vuitton himself was still the personal packer of Napoleon’s wife. In order to transport all her couture gowns and crinolines, he built his own suitcases to make sure they were well taken care of. Think of mobile closets. These little trunks can contain no more than your cell phone, a little black card and some lipstick, but then again, what more does a girl need?

4. Saint Laurent

Ever since Hédi Slimane has been working his magic, Saint Laurent has been the hottest fashion house and everyone literally wants everything. Especially the accessories are favorites (and still somewhat affordable). All the fashionista’s I’m surrounded by are in love with the envelope bag with the antiquated YSL logo.

5. Tod’s

Almost every year my mother receives a Tod’s bag from my hubby. As a thank you for helping take care of our girls and ironing his shirts. I think this year I will subtly direct him towards the Little Cape Bag I’m obsessed with. That way I might occasionally be able to borrow it.
