THE BEST SUMMER HAIR
– This looks will get you through summer –
The summer ought to be as stress-free as possible, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Here on the editorial floor we are all suffering from outfit stress (because when the mercury reaches 33 degrees all you really want to wear is your bikini) and what are we going to do with with that hair. The loose hair beach look is fine but when the droplets of sweat turn our locks all soggy, no one is happy. What do we do? Read on.
Wetlook
This is an easy one. The big advantage is that you don’t have to wash your hair for a few days and that you can just brush it back easily. In any case your hair is out of your face (big plus) and with the addition of wax it won’t be moving much in a hurry. Fixed perfection.
Twist it
If you are not so handy with braiding your hair yourself than the twist is the solution for you. Simple: you twist your hair. Spray it in advance with a little sea salt spray – preferably one that is also moisturizing – that will help to keep the hair that teenie bit stiffer, making it easier to keep in place without the use of a bunch of bobby pins.
Top knot
My favorite (), I’m sure you know, because it’s just too easy, almost always looks good and it takes but a few seconds to do. The art is to achieve hair that looks as naturally messy as possible without it falling from the top of your head. The secret trick to achieving the perfect non-perfect knot is to make it as tight as possible, pinning it to your head and then pulling all the bits out. You should also be able to run your hand through your hair, as it goes best with the use of a bit of movement.
Plait
Plaits always work. You know for sure that all your hair will be kept out of your face and will stay that way, and it always looks very stylish. You can do it in different ways. For the advanced braider: Hold your head upside down and braid upwards towards the crown. You end up with a knot or ponytail giving a little something extra to the style. Not so handy? You can also do loose plaits and secure them with pins. Summer proof guaranteed.
