Conversation Piece Fashion

the biggest TRENDS for this festival season

It’s that I work 5 days a week where they expect me to show up awake and functional, otherwise you would find me at a festival every weekend coming summer. There was a time when this was normal practice for me (the only fun part about college). Showing up at the festival site at noon and being the last one to leave and join the after party. By the time my hangover was over it was Wednesday, not very stimulating for a work environment. But hey! The festival season is on it’s way and aside from the music and partying there’s another fun perk; the clothing.

Fringes

A firm number one: pieces with fringes, edging, ruffle: give it a name. A coat, trousers, t-shirts, dresses; as long as it has fringes.

The seventies

Suede jackets, shirts with big collars; the seventies are hot-hot-hot.

stripes

Preferably bright colors but black and white is allowed. Fat stripes, thin stripes, wide or narrow. Suit yourself.

Prints

Flower prints are everywhere this summer. But there are others as well: fruit prints, for example or animal prints or even make-up prints.

Oversized

This trend is indefatigable. In the winter the coats are boxy and big, in the summer it’s big t-shirts. Buy a plus size (in the men’s department) and you’re good.

Naturel make-up and hair

Isn’t that convenient? Except for that black eye pencil it’s au naturel. Loosely brushed hair or a tight ponytail, just don’t make too much of a fuss.

lace or sheer materials

Ideal for those steamy festival days: a bikini top with a lace or crocheted sweater and off you go.

Gladiator sandals

Not for everyone but Zara is stocking up, so it’s just a matter of time before we see everyone walking around in these.
