The Stiletto nail and the almond shate

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: your hands are your business cards. So keep them looking as good as possible. Add a bit of polish, file them to perfection, because your nail say more about you than you know. The same way a nail polish color says something about you, so does its shape. You’ve always got the standard ‘normal’ shapes but even in this nail department, trends come and go. Last year everyone was spotted with short and neat nails, but now long and pointy are making a comeback.

So the shape of your nails, if you want to be à la trend, is going to go through a bit of a change. The stiletto nail has been spotted and it is exactly what you would think of when you hear the term stiletto. Long, bold and very pointy. Kind of like claws, so know what you’re getting yourself into. Beyoncé and Rihanna are already advocated of this look. But if you find it to be impractical, then you can opt for the almond shape trend. Still long, but less pointy.

The comeback kid this year is the square. A few years ago we banned the French manicure but we have all caved, and this year it’s okay to file your nails in the shape of a square and add a bit of white lining.

Long story short, your nail file is your new best friend. Just remember, the shape on all five of your nails really says more about who you are. And hey, why not try faking and making it?
