THE NEW FALL BEAUTY LOOKS 

– the four blazing trends –

Last Wednesday I was at the beauty event of the year. M.A.C Cosmetics arranged a morning session showing us all the trends for this fall, brought to life by the best make-up artist on the face of the earth. This time the honor fell to Baltasar Gonzalez Pinel and Elke Willemen to show us the most fabulous images and inspiring trends. We get that you might not be interested yet. Hell, summer hasn’t even started. But there’s nothing wrong with sharing some highlights, is there? Just so you know what to expect next season.

Beautiful and damned

This all looks quite exciting and punk. The emphasis is on black. Black lips, black eyeliner; black is the bomb. It’s not overdone punk it’s a loose version and a little sketchy. The basic thing is to keep it glamorous and chic with a hint of danger.

Strength of beauty

The perfect porcelain faces of last season make way for less perfection. Still very pretty but the skin is more real life. Individuality is important. The brow can be a little brushy and a blush has to look healthy. No perfect powdered skin but fluffy and light. In Elke’s words: hyper femininity but not overdone.

Love worn

This is a combination of the former two trends. When fall comes you can loose the perfection of summer, the looks are looser. This look tells us it can be exciting. Smokey eyes with retro gray, black and brown, a good eyeliner and lots of mascara. All well blended and faded, because perfect is no longer the key word.

Red 70’s

Red will always the right color for your lips, the next season being no exception. The red shades stay in the brown/orange region and range from pale to bordeaux. It depends on what suits your face. No hard lines on the lips, it’s all softer and faded, like you’ve been wearing it for a few hours already.
