Celebs celebrating new year in Dubai

You’d think that celebs would seek privacy and time away from all the madness of fame in their private time. Yet this is often not the case in practise, because they love – even during vacations – being around each other. St Barth’s and Aspen have always been popular destinations for Christmas, and last summer everybody who is anybody was on Ibiza. This winter it’s Dubai, which is literally and figuratively hotter than hot amongst the rich and famous.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his love Irina Shayk stayed in Dubai for Christmas, Nikkie Plessen celebrated the holidays with her family in this ultra luxury desert and young Hollywood seems to have temporarily moved there.

The half-Dutch Gigi Hadid and her modelling-buddy Kendall Jenner left for the The United Emirates with Selena Gomez and were joined by Cody Simpson, Gigi’s boyfriend and his friends this past week. One great looking group of people celebrating the new year.

And the little group did not only party. They also took in a bit of culture with a visit to a mosque, but the lust for documenting each and every movement cost Selena Gomez dearly. An Instagram post of her in full veil, but with a far too sexy piece of ankle showing, caused outrage in the muslim world. The photo has since been removed and has not stopped them from enjoying themselves, of which we have proof.
