4 x workout proof hair

This morning it was another round in the park. I was wearing a hoodie so I tied my hair into a low bun to prevent a stupid bump forming on my head. While I was running I noticed my hair stayed in place rather well. There’s nothing more annoying that pulling at your ponytail or retying your bun, that lets loose again, while your running. Women have a tough life, don’t they?

I’ll give you four hair ideas that will help keep your air staying perfectly in place while you’re working out. And they look cute too.

Tip 1: Make sure you have a good elastic band, not one of those limp over-stretched ones that you have used to wrap around your hair a thousand times and then snaps.

The low bun

Since recently, my favorite. I usually tied a bun on top of my head but all that wobbling while running or hopping around while boxing loosens it and it comes undone. If you twist it low in your neck it’s sturdier and can’t sag. Fasten it just above your neck, you’ll be less bothered by sweaty hair and stuff.

Hairbands and pins

You can use this for every hairstyle to prevent lose tufts of hair from hanging in front of your face, very irritating. It’s a pain (well it is for me) to find the right one, some give you headaches or slide off your head. I like a broad one with a rubber anti-slip edge. It stays in place perfectly. You can always use some bobby pins to fasten the headband so to keep it from slipping.

Braid

Some people can do this by themselves. I can’t. Fortunately I have May-Britt, who is extremely good at this, to do my workout braid for this evening. It’s a tight fit, stays in place; the perfect workout hairstyle.

Ponytail with plait

Make a really tight high ponytail using a strong elastic band. Then plait your ponytail and fasten another sturdy elastic band at the end. This one stays perfectly as well at Lara Croft level, she’s cool.
