SYLVIE meiS’ WORKOUT REGIME:
5 steps and you will be just as tight
Aside from her upcoming Hunkemöller collection and some private chats during lunch, I asked Sylvie Meis how she stays in such incredibly good shape. And specifically what her workout regime looks like in anticipation of a sexy shoot such as with Hunkemöller. I mean, it’s quite something posing in suspenders in the middle of the Meatpacking district. Her answer endorses her iron discipline. I’m not sure if I could follow through, but you might. So here you have it; how you too can get in shape like Sylvie in 5 steps.
By this Sylvie means: never stop exercising. In preparation for a shoot she definitely adds a little extra power to her workout schedule, but in general it always requires a good foundation. So rain or shine, keep going to the gym.
At least two months before the shoot Sylvie stores away all the alcohol. Including those offered from sweetheart Momo. However, a glass of champagne once in a while, is allowed. But glass after glass, night after night. Nope. That is forbidden.
A few months before the shoot all carbohydrates are rigorously wiped from Sylvie’s menu. So no bread, no potatoes, absolutely nada.
Naturally Sylvie works out with a personal trainer and always has a diverse schedule. But what they do quite a lot of is HIT-training. These high-intensity workouts ‘hit’ your muscles hard and fast and are also very popular in New York. The exercises are not done for long, but they are very heavy. Each exercise has a break for only a few seconds and you keep this up for around 12 minutes.
Two weeks before the shoot Sylvie still goes hard with cardio. Not too heavy, not too fast, but very long and steady on a cross-trainer or treadmill for at least one hour. Hats off, I say.
