4 X TAKE AWAY SHAKES
I don’t know if I’m a good influence or it’s because the summer just kicked in, but green smoothies, juice cups, healthy bars and bowls full of salad are appearing more frequently at the office. Oh, plus plenty of gym sessions are being booked too. Our shopping editor Lilian and marketing king Theo always walk in with their own homemade smoothies in the morning. Although they noticed to be lacking in the inspiration department, hence the reason I’m here with four smoothies that are easy to make and you can tag along to work with you.
What you need is a blender. You can play around with the amounts on your own, depending on which flavors you prefer. Want it to be sweeter? Add more fruit. Want it to be a little liquidy, add juice or water.
Smoothie 1
- spinach
- banana
- fresh pineapple
- coconut water
- water
- flax seeds
Smoothie 2
- banana
- blue berries
- boiled beets
- lemon juice
- coconut water
Smoothie 3
- soaked unroasted almonds (it’s a lot less complicated than it sounds. Just put them in water the night before.)
- dates
- kale
- almond milk
- water
- spinach
Smoothie 4
- avocado
- kiwi
- cucumber
- coconut water
Tip: sometimes I buy a lot of fruit and vegetables that need to be used as soon as they can because at that exact moment, they’re at their ripest which means they’re at their best. I think take the rest of the ingredients I want to use for my smoothie, but them in a small plastic ziplock bag into my freezer so that all I have to do in the morning is throw them in a blender with a bit of juice or water. Easy and quick, I love it.
