5 cool presents for new baby daddies
Super sweet and all, all those presents for the new born baby and mother (and very deserved too so come on over with that pot of gold after having given birth), but how great is it for the new baby daddy to receive a gift too?
1. A barbecue
To confirm his manhood, a barbecue would be the perfect gift. That way he can spend the entire summer cooking up steaks for everyone dropping by for a maternity visit instead of sprinkling blue or pink sprinkles on cupcakes.
2. A dust buster
This is the best present if he does happen to be working with sprinkles in the kitchen (which is a pretty bad idea to be honest because women who have just given birth have a bad case of mysophobia and those sprinkles are going to end up everywhere you don’t want them to be). Plus, your darling baby is going to be spilling everything in its surroundings, especially as soon as he or she learns to crawl. So that dust buster will lead to: happy wife, happy life. Beer in one hand, dust buster in the other.
”Beer in one hand, dust buster in the other.’
3. Good coffee
When I gave birth to my first daughter, we had yet to purchase a Nespresso coffee machine. I know, it’s something I’m still trying to wrap my head around, but that just happened to be the case. And then my love’s best friend dropped by with a brand new Nespresso machine. Brilliant present. It made life a whole lot easier for us, for our guests, and every time we drink a cup of coffee, we think of him.
4. A casserole
Perhaps the most underrated maternity visit gift. Give food. Preferably a good, home made dish. Obviously the brand new mama has no time to cook and neither does a working father. When he gets home, he has to relieve the mother of her duties, walks around in the airplane position with the baby and continuously tell his wife how great she is. And all that while nonchalantly putting a fantastic casserole on the dinner table. The fact that you didn’t cook it yourself is a fact you can keep to yourself.
5. A film camera
A gift my love received from my father. The result is a desk drawer full of videos we’ll watch one day as soon as the girls are grown up.
