5 facebook tricks that will change your life

Don’t those Facebook notifications drive you crazy? Do you miss all the updates your friends post online – the only updates you really actually care about? Do you want to take back control of your own FB page? Then stay tuned, because this one’s for you.

Here are 5 tricks that will make Facebooking a lot more fun.

1. Want to see your timeline in chronological order?

Facebook just loves to highlight the popular posts in your feed, but for those of you who – just like me – are being driven to insanity because of the incoherent theme on Facebook: you can turn this off. Click on ‘news feed’ in the top left corner of your page. Then click ‘most recent’in stead of ‘top stories’.

2. Wanna see more pictures of your friends?

I used to miss out on seeing some of the pretty pics that my friends post. Well, not anymore. And you’ll probably want that too. Click on ‘change preferences’ on the left side of your screen. Here you can check the boxes for friends, pages and groups of which you’d like to see first on your page.

3. Want to turn off the ‘seen’ checks in Facebook chat?

Yup, it’s possible. Quite handy, because the need you feel to respond when you’ve sneakily checked your FB chat at work is pretty stressful. Download the app ‘Unseen’ here. https://apps.facebook.com/unseen-app/

(only works on your laptop or PC in Google Chrome)

4. Ready to put Candy Crush invites in the past?

Nobody likes to get twenty invites for games. F off, Candy Crush Saga. Candy is for eating, NOT for playing. Right, so  to make these disappear forever, go to your settings and click on block. How great is this; you can block app invites as well as the app itself.

5. Adios, Facebook ads!

Protect yourself by not clicking on websites that rant about holiday deays, heels and vintage bags in the right side bar. Google ‘Timeline Cleaner’, download it and there you have it: annoying (and very tempting) ads are in the past.
