6 things you can learn from your significant other
Sometimes I have those days where I can’t help but look at my guy with pure envy. When my world is about to crumble into a million tiny pieces and I’m about to die, he’ll just throw some random comment my way that’ll make me realize that I’m being an absolute idiot.
Well ladies, take note, there are a couple of life lessons we can learn from our men…
1. Stop speculating
Hold on, what exactly does that female friend of his mean with that text of her? Am I sensing some sort of other implication? I’ll then make my guy read it and he’ll say to me: “Kiki, you’re probably just reading it wrong. Put your phone down and read the message again later.” So I’ll do exactly as he says and half an hour later I’ll re-read the message and thing: ooooh yeah. Now I get it.
2. Make a mountain out of a molehill
After I’ve just had a severe panic attack (or four) looking for the perfect dress to wear to the wedding of some vague family friend, my guy will get suited up in a suit in just a couple of seconds. “It’s not a big deal, relax, just put on a dress…” I know babe, right again. Damn it.
3. Put yourself in the limelight
We’re definitely a lot more modest when it comes to booking success at the office. Go and check out how men do it. They’ll make sure their the center of attention and are totally okay bragging about it. Why shouldn’t we do the same thing?
4. Say ‘no’ more often
Make sure to check this out. It comes way more naturally to men.
5. Address your friends’ bad behavior
Situation: one of your friends is suddenly getting really close to a guy you’ve had a thing for for a while. And she know’s damn right how you feel about it. Instead of talking to her about it, you go to your other friends. Which is okay, I’m not saying it’s not, but guys handle situations like these a lot better. They head straight to the person in question themselves which will save them a whole lot of drama. Amen.
6. Be discreet
As soon as a couple of glasses of wine have been in the mix, ladies seem to get themselves involved in things that aren’t their business to begin with. They’ll suddenly start telling everyone about that one fight X & Y had at the office. Men have a better way of filtering things they should keep to themselves and what they can share. Listen and learn ladies, listen and learn.
