BARBECUE SAUCE THAT DOESN’T CONTAIN ANY SUGAR
Warning! Almost all barbecue sauces contain an absurd about of sugar. Per bottle an average of seven teaspoons of sugar is used. But that’s what you get when you buy them pre-made and packaged. Hence the reason I’ve been trying to get everyone to spend more time in the kitchen instead of opting for the easier way out. So I’m trying it again: a fresh sauce for your BBQ sausages and steamed salmon. You’re welcome!
Cucumber raita
What you need:
1 cucumber
a bowl of Turkish yoghurt
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
1 lemon
chives
pepper and salt
How to make it
Rasp the cucumber and let it leak for about fifteen minutes in strainer. Then add 5 full tablespoons of Turkish yoghurt, a pinch of pepper and salt and a teaspoon of cumin powder. Add the cucumber rasp and mix it together. Add a small squeeze of lemon juice and some chopped chives. Serve it cold (out of the fridge).
And if you’ve got any cucumber over, why not use it for your gin-tonics?
