bye liesbeth
‘Ma’am’ became ‘Maybrittus’.
Ten minutes too early for her job interview easily became fifteen minutes later for work every day.
That one Liesbeth who had her own unique and fun way of writing became an institution.
600 followers on Instagram suddenly turned into 21.000 (and shame on you if you unfollowed her, no way would that get by her unnoticed).
Johannes and Olivia became fashion friends (touched, talked and photographed).
The king of street style photography Bill Cunningham knew her name and even invited her to drop by his humble abode.
”Some things haven’t changed’
Disco is still Disco. Just like Disney is still Disney.
And when you’re abroad you should never be surprised when Liesbeth get’s herself out of dinner duty. Or washing up…
Her lust for wine was also another constant. “May-Britt, we haven’t had anything to drink all day!” was a standard remark of hers around three o’clock. Shame on us. And so we would open up a bottle.
The wine pose was developed. We would practice it thoroughly on the terrace at The Standard in New York, at Il Salumaio in Milan, at Costes in Paris and even more so at Jefferson in Amsterdam, just around the corner of our head quarters.
The Liesbeth era at Amayzine has come to a close. The girl is leaving the nest. But we’ll never forget her. We’re calling it the end of an era. And the beginning of a new pioneer.
The departure of one of your first and most important pillars is a sign that you are in fact a real company. Liesbeth is our very own (to stay in line with our country of origin) Johan Cruijff. The star player that played for us a long time ago.
I would like to thank Liesbeth for her fun words and pieces that always made me laugh out loud. For us it’s the start of finding someone for fill her shoes (or Valentino boots). And let me tell you, she left some big boots to fill.
