Happy & Healthy
for when you’re heading abroad…
and want to lose some final kilos
Houston, we’ve got somewhat of a problem. In about two weeks I’m heading to Tuscany for a wedding and my body isn’t really, uh, summer proof. And so I decided to knock on our health editors door and order a ‘what to do guide’. Are you just like me and do you struggle with losing those few kilo’s? What you need is a healthy lifestyle change injection.
So here they are. The 13 steps I’m sticking to the next two weeks:
1. From now on it’s time to skip the alcohol. Drink tons of water. And green tea.
2. For Christ’s sake, time to start eating more vegetables. Cook ‘em, steam ‘em, grill ‘em: anything with vegetables.
3. Nope, no more taxis. None.
4. Which leads me to the conclusion that I need to get myself a bike to use in Amsterdam. I’m pretty sure I’m the only loser in this country who doesn’t have one.
5. And that I need to start working out at least once a week the next two weeks. Preferably two. And the ‘I don’t have any time’ excuse is off the tables.
6. The cookies you can usually find on my desk are forbidden.
7. From now on it’s time for me to do some proper grocery shopping. I need to fill my fridge with as much fresh food as I can.
8. Because it’s time I actually start cooking. No more takeout.
9. And if I don’t have an inspiration for meals, I’ll just ask others for advice.
10. I’ll take a photo of my meals to prove to everyone at Amayzine that I really am cooking my own meals.
11. From now on I’m going to start my days with 7 minute workouts.
12. Wake up earlier so that I have the time for a proper breakfast.
13. Last but not least, still have the urge to snack on something unhealthy at least once? Do it, but don’t go overboard.
