BE HONEST: HOW MANY BAGS DO YOU BUY EACH YEAR?
I think on average I feel the need to buy two designer bags a year. Even though secretly this year I’m already on bag number three, my bright colored Furla baby, and this double impulse buy. All designer labels.
Then there’s always the affordable Zara bag in-between, the Ibiza bag, the bag that might be gifted to you for your birthday from friends. Because you know what it is, bags are the perfect extension of a female are. Summer/winter: it always works. Gained weight/lost weight: it always works. Unlike shoes, bags can last longer and transform any outfit into a chic one. And okay, when I calculate my overall 5 to 6 bags that I buy per year, I figured I’d be amongst the average of at least the country I live in. Apparently not…
“The Dutch female population is very devoted to their most important accessory: the bag.”
Research conducted by Vente-Exclusive.com shows that women buy an average of one new bag a year – despite the wide range of options in stores. Long story short, the Dutch female population is very devoted to their most important accessory: the bag. To be fair, it does sound cute and monogamous. Hmmm. Maybe I should be more devoted to just one.
There area a couple of other fun facts the website researched:
- Of all the types of bags, the handbag is on the top of the list of most loved with 36%. Runner up is the shoulder bag.
- When women go for a designer bag, Longchamp is a favorite. 37% of the women in the Netherlands wouldn’t mind having one dangling off their arm.
- Marc Jacobs bags are another popular brand in the country. On the 2nd spot with 23%.
- 59% of the women who were interviewed spends max 50 to 150 euros on a bag.
- Bags with a price tag that are higher than 300 euros? Most women won’t even look at them.
- The clutch is the least popular amongst the bag sorts. Not surprising though because those things are f*cking annoying to carry around.
