HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON FOOD
And have more to spend on that designer bag
Are you trying to save up money for something pretty? Something cool to wear or something for in your home? Then it’s best you keep your wallet shut anytime you stroll through Zara or H&M. And save some money on food. Provided the quality doesn’t go down the drain. Don’t start buying really cheap fish and meat, you’ve got to stay kind to yourself. There are a bunch of groceries you can do that’ll leave you with that extra bit of money you need for those killer Jimmy Choo biker boots for example (in my case). Here they are:
– Buy your vegetables and fruit at a greengrocer in your neighborhood instead of at a supermarket. Veggies and fruit are always cheaper there (and taste a whole lot better too!).
– Never do groceries when you are hungry. Seriously, you’ll grab so much stuff you don’t need and there’s no way you’re going to be able to finish it all.
– Go on the hunt for bargains and let these products inspire you for dinner.
– Make a list of what you need beforehand to avoid rushing through the store because you forgot certain things. And if you really have absolutely no inspiration for dinner, then again, check the bargains. Win-win.
– Always opt for fruit that isn’t pre-cut. Cutting it yourself hardly takes anytime, plus it’s cheaper and tastes better.
– Check out the bottom racks in grocery stores as well. The most expensive products are always on eye level.
– Check the expiration dates of the product. Make sure to check the back of the shelf too because that’s where you can find the products with the longest shelf life. So if you want to grab some milk, make sure you get the last pack in the line.
