Research always intrigues me. So anytime something new pops up, beauty related, in my inbox or something circulates the web, I make sure to give it a proper read through. The newest thing I discovered: if we spend a little longer pampering ourself in front of the mirror in the morning, we’re going to be more successful. In other words: your paycheck is going to go up.

Research conducted by Jaclyn Wong and Andrew Penner, two sociologist, has stated that ‘attractive’ people earn 20 percent more than women who spend less time in front go the mirror. So if that guy of yours starts complaining that you’re hogging the bathroom for far too long, let him know it’s a good thing.

Alright, so now I’m going to fill your in on how you’re going to achieve that powerful look. You don’t have to go all out, a touch of power is plenty.

The red lip

A bold color like red speaks for itself. You don’t have to be a makeup queen to show up with red lips and when you’re a little nervous to bring up the topic of a raise, then red lips will work to your advantage. This makes you a stronger persona who can take on anything.

The wing thing

Takes some practice because a trembling hand won’t do you any justice. But, the longer and the straighter, the more confidence you exude.

Nails

I’ve got this habit of looking at people’s nail when I talk to them. If they’re too long, they frighten me and I find it a lot less appealing. You need to find some sort of midway. The way you shape them is up to you as long as they’re not too long and just make sure they look well taken care of and well polished.

Lashes

Sounds weird, but lashes really do more to the shape of your eye than you might be aware of. It makes you more confident, and when applied correctly (read: nothing clamped together), you’re going to rock that negotiation meeting. Make sure you take the time to find that one mascara and mascara technique that really works for you because it’ll radiate perfection.

Groomed brows are going to give your face more character.
