The familiar scenery of Amsterdam are as pretty as ever. The sun has been out against all expectations and I found myself almost being run over by someone on his bike. Amsterdam is exactly as I had left it. Although I’m always surprised at how traffic works here. I’m no longer used to it. New York might be one of the busiest places in the world, but it’s an organized chaos. But Amsterdam is where my friends are. Some that I’ve known for 10, maybe even 15 years. So I turned off my phone and enjoyed their presence without interruptions.

I’m sticking to a short summary of my week this week. Because that one time at the terrace at George W, coffee with the best wedding planner Lotte at Coffee & Coconuts, the night that got a little out of hand at Bar Bash and ended up at The Butcher with gin-tonics, and that Sunday rosé session recollecting embarrassing stories from our past… During all these moments I kept my cell phone locked away in my pocket. I’m on a photo-detox holiday. Except for here, in The Dylan. I showed up a little earlier to my appointment, so I decided to snap a photo of this idyllic place by the Amsterdam canals.

A few days ago, Blue met his brother and sister from Oregon. Well, they’re not biologically related, but they come from the same breeder and that creates some sort of family bond. The lady all the way on the left of the photo wasn’t too interest in Blue, but Harry in the middle, was an immediate fan. I have to say though, getting them to sit still for this photo was quite a bit go work but once they were still, we turned it into a who-has-the-longest-contest. The longest tongue of course.

Good evening, Amsterdam. I’ve put my Friday shoes back on. We’re off to meet up with friends for drinks, food, laughs and to bring up hilarious anecdotes from back in the day. I’ve got more exciting photos to share with you, but I’ll leave those for next week.
