POISON GIRL
A spray of sensuality, excitement and shock
I don’t find apples on my desk all too often. Either they’ll be eaten right away, or they’ll be on there long enough that their pretty red color has faded and made way for one that isn’t all too appealing. But as of late, I’ve got an apple of my desk without an expiration date. And the smell is divine. Why? Because it’s Dior’s newest scent: Poison Girl.
Dior’s nose, also known as François Demachy, is incapable of sitting still. Last year he introduced us to the godlike male scent called Savage, after which he dug his nose into the Poison family. After Pure Poison, Poison Tendre, Hypnotic Poison and Midnight Poison, it was time to extend the family a little further.
I’m sure you know Poison, but for those of you who’ve never gotten a whiff of the scent, let me give you a quick refreshment course. It’s the most thrilling and exciting scent which makes you think of a hard riddle, something sensual and something off limits. Shocking, that might be the right word. Hence the name. Ever since 1985 we’ve been able to keep this bottle on a shelf in your bathroom and it undoubtedly goes hand in hand with a bit of nostalgia.
The newest member of the clan is Poison’s baby sister: Poison Girl. It might sound young, but it isn’t. This incredibly exciting female scent has that thrill and shocking effect in her genes. So if excitement is what you’re looking for, this is your scent. “I am not a girl, I am poison” is her slogan. Demachy made sure to keep the curiosity factor of the scent in the scent, and added a bit of sweetness to the mix. The sweetness derives from the touch of orange, combined with tonka bean, vanilla and wood nuts. The mixture of all these ingredients creates a warm and sensual scent with a saucy detail.
So in short, Poison Girl is an exciting, sensual scent which will leave a mark. You don’t have worry about being a wallflower, it’s okay to be fully present. This is one apple that won’t be disappearing from my desk any time soon, or body for that matter.
