Chocolate cake without an oven
It’s definitely something you’re probably not used to, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good. The fun and great thing about this cake is that you can’t over eat it. Because of the almonds and the dates, a slice of this cake will make you feel full so you won’t grab another. Well, okay, okay, perhaps two slices. But don’t worry, you’ll taste plenty of chocolate. Here’s my recipe. It’s super easy: all you need is patience to let it rise while it’s resting in your fridge. So it’s best you make it a day before.
This is what you need
For the base
100 grams of almonds
25o grams of fresh dates
For the chocolate
100 grams of raw cocoa
160 ml maple syrup
200 ml melted coconut oil
The juice and peel of two oranges
This is how to make it
Start by making the base of the cake. Grind the almonds in a food processor. Then add the dates (without the pit!). Mix it until it turns into a dough-like substance. Then place it in a cake mold and put it in your freezer.
To make the chocolate topping, mix all the ingredients in a mixer until it’s smooth. Mix it for roughly five minutes. Then tip it onto the cake base you just made and let it rest in the fridge overnight. Decorate the cake the following morning with your orange peels and it’s ready to be served.
