Beauty
the lipstick of the PRO’S
When we talk about makeup, lipstick is a classic case of either you do or you don’t. Naomi Donne refuses to leave the door without some color on her lips, Charlotte Tilbury believes that lipstick gives your life a complete upgrade and even the ladies working at the Dior counter refuse to let you leave the store without dabbing on a bit of color to your lips.
So there’s one thing left for us to do. Stock up on lipstick because lipstick is a must. You need a nude color for basic days, an all-time classic red for days you want to spice up your look and a pink for the days you want to accentuate.
Here are a couple of tips from some of the coolest makeup artists. Benefit from it.
“Don’t have a lot of time to do your makeup? Keep your makeup look basic and use a bold color on your lips. The right shade will give your lips vibrant.”
Blair Patterson
“When you want the perfect red lips, make sure to check out your natural lip color first. Is your original lip color a ‘colder’ shade, stick to ‘colder’ tones. If it’s warm, stick to warm. If you really want your lips to stand out and give them a different dimension, opt for the contrast.”
James Vincent
“Use a color corrector as a base. It will neutralize the lip tone and your emphasize your natural lip color even more so.”
Petra Strand
“Test lipstick on the inside of your finger and not on the side of your hand. Your finger top is the closest to the natural color of your lip color, making it the best place to imitate what it would look like.”
Kerry Cole
“Use a natural color eyeliner to accentuate the lines of your lips and draw them out all the way to your cupids bow. This will make sure your lipstick won’t smear and it will make them look even bigger.”
Petra Strand
“Check out the color of your lips on the inside. Especially your lower lip. Pick a color that’s almost the same as the inside of your lip. Then you’ll know for a fact you have a color that suits you.”
Maggie Ford Danielson
“Add some concealer to the corners of your luis. It’ll give them a lift.”
