THE NEWEST TREND IN THE WORLD OF BEAUTY: TROLLS

I think I missed out on the hysterics about Trolls back in the nineties. I was more of a Barbie girl myself, but I do recall my sister having a row of trolls lined up in her bedroom but I thought they were awful. Nude dolls with crazy hair in every possible color you could think of. But they were a huge hit. Whereas I always tagged my Barbie along everywhere we went, my sister brought her trolls. Oh well, at least we never fought about toys.

But: from now on I’m also on team Trolls. It all started when Justin Timberlake got me dancing for days when he released ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’. A song that had been written for the Trolls movie in which Justin Timberlake, James Corden and Gwen Stefani all leant out their voices. I can’t wait until it’s released, but in the meantime, a very cool package from one of my favorite brands landed on my office desk. MAC Cosemetics launched a new collection as an ode to these little monsters. And no, the collection isn’t based on nude bodies, it’s a translation of all their colorful rainbow looks.

The collection is all but boring. It’s a colorful collection that even makes a candy cane look dull. Think of neon greens and cobalt blue on the lips, bright yellow and gold on the eyes and glitters and glosses for on the lips. Bold colors with witty names like Twerkquoise, Dance Off Pants Off, Glitter Grunge, Tease and Bubble Butt. All I know is, these Trolls got themselves a nice vocabulary.

In the need for some striking colors? August 13th is when you need to head on over to the store. Most of all, I just like looking at the collection because it derives from the naked bodies of trolls (hello, natural look). But incase you want to set foot into the world of Trools, then you know what to do. Either steal your sisters entire troll collection, or put your finger in an electric socket, add a bit of hair mascara and a bold color on the eye. MAC Cosmetics sure made the decision easy for you.
