Why you finish faster in bed with socks on
“Oh gross, he keeps his socks on in bed.” I hear my good friend S say it just like that. Honestly, if there’s anything that doesn’t work to increase desire in the bedroom, it’s when your partner doesn’t even take the effort to take off his socks when you’re getting intimate. It becomes even more serious when we’re talking about the category of white sports socks, a.k.a. the hell of about three-quarters of the Netherlands.
But now. I never expected that I would say this, but keeping socks on in bed isn’t so bad after all. At least, if I may believe the science. Neuroscientist Gert Holstege conducted research for the German Fun Factory on women who keep their socks on in bed. And what turns out? With warm feet, reaching a climax is much easier. In fact: the percentage of women that an orgasm, increased from 50 to 80 (!). I mean: warm feet AND an orgasm. Can it get any better? Okay, something with red velvet cake, but that can always come after the deed.
No, seriously. If you’re wondering about those socks: but why? The reason is actually very simple. Socks give you a nice and warm feeling. And that cozy feeling calms the parts of your brain that are responsible for fear. Less fear means all brakes off in the bedroom. And, all brakes off means more relaxation, more sexiness, more enjoyment… and there’s your firework.
So, take those dusty woolly baby socks out of the drawer. And, have fun, okay…
