ARTWORK FOR CHRISTMAS

It is our mantra, but with ‘done’ hair, you get more compliments than with a new outfit. Because our hairdresser friends are all spreading out to warm places and I myself am flying to summer Australia, Rachel Geerman from The Building teaches me the tricks of a sexy charming Christmas hairstyle.

Style your hair with a lot of mousse all over. So not just at the roots. The nice thing about this look is that I don't have to wash my hair first. That saves time. ‘Dirty’ hair is a bit stiffer and therefore holds better.

Divide the hair into two sections. Isolate the lower segment from the rest, and make a small, tight ponytail there.

Tease the top of the hair well. Preferably with a Mason Pearson brush, they are the best for teasing. Make sure to really flip the hair forward when you tease, that way you get much more volume than if you keep it straight up during the process.

From the lower ponytail, make a small roll bun. Twist the strand very tightly and a bun will naturally form. Secure it with plenty of bobby pins and of course a good amount of hairspray.

Flip the teased top back. Secure the top with pins.

The bottom of this section you wrap around the other bun. Again, generous with the hairspray and pins.

Finally, pull your bangs (if you have them) loose and blow-dry them nicely into shape. I think it looks nice when it falls loosely along my face in a smooth side parting.

Just a quick spray of hairspray and you're done. Where's the party? There's the party!
