GLAMOUR it is
This afternoon I went to Carice van Houten and Halina Reijn’s Anti Glamour book presentation. Carice, in a very tight fitting leather tube skirt (size 0) and a lovely black silk blouse with a golden collar. Halina wore a long black dress with narrow straps and quite an open back. I tried to catch her using fashion tape or taped fillets, but no, really, she wore nothing underneath. Wow!
The presentation was held at Buffet van Odette, a lovely eatery on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. They served omelets with truffle and gin tonics, only. And a swirl of cucumber, that they did. Their favourite.
But okay, their book. It’s called Anti Glamour. As soon as I open the book I’ve got to laugh. It doesn’t matter if you start at the beginning or flip halfway through the book to ‘quickly’ read something. Beauty secrets, french kissing, the perfect man, favourite music, underwear, nutrition, orgasms, insecurities and feeling lonely in a million dollar hotel room. Everything’s discussed. But you can also read about great spots to drink wine at with your new love without being published in several magazines. And from experience, I know Carice is very good at this. It’s a book by two best friends that tell us about how their lives really look like. And that isn’t entirely filled with glitter. Carice and Halina have to go to the gynecologist like all women, they also struggle with excess amounts of body hair and sometimes also look up to other people. I really want to know it all, because to me, they really are so incredibly glamorous. The perfect present for underneath the christmas tree for my girlfriends.
Now, I’d like to go to that great hotel, with this book, and another gin tonic and…
