WINTER DIP? NO PANIC!
Fortunately, I am not the only one who has it (which is what I often think). A dip around this time. The so-called winter dip. Every year. But you know, it really isn't the end of the world and you can easily recover from it. Here are a few tips.
- Dress warmly. Many women still like to dress too cold. So do I. Nice with such a bare piece of back on the bike. Do you recognise it? Don't. The cold makes you tired and cranky. So opt for a warm jumper. Really? Then you will still fashionable look. Put a blouse with a nice collar underneath or let that big jumper slip a little over your left shoulder. Yes, that is sexy. And buy a nice thick scarf. The one from Acne Is already in my shopping cart.
- ‘Good morning all, I'm having a dire winter dip, so I'm a bit cranky.’ Just say this as soon as you enter the office. Once you discuss it, it already feels half as bad. Or ask your boss for a day off. Say you are serious about tackling your winter dip. Your employer will appreciate that more than if you call in sick and then stay home under a blanket on the couch with a bag of gingerbread cookies.
- GET OUT OF BED. It sounds very simple, but is especially tricky in winter. Set the alarm, jump in the shower and meet up with a friend. Once you have taken that first step outside your cot and then the second outside the front door, you are almost over the dip. I know this, because I know it. I prefer to stay under the covers all day, but really, it won't get you anywhere.
- Be kind to yourself. By that I mean: make your house cosy, light candles, fill your fridge, make Chai Tea Latte with almond milk, buy flowers, invite girlfriends over for dinner, put on your best clothes and put on your favourite music. Really do it. I'll say it one more time. Be kind to yourself!
- And then the very last tip. Drink 1 glass of champagne. Really, that helps against everything.
