5 HEALTHY/FITNESS APPS FOR VACATION

We train ourselves to exhaustion when summer comes around again (at least, I can often be found in the gym) only to let the strict regime go during our vacation. That can and should happen. After all, that's what vacation is for. Still, I always pack a jump rope or some healthy energy bars for when I'm on the go. For me, relaxation also includes sports. That's when I'm at my best.

And it's really not necessary to spend an hour in the gym every day. It really only takes a quarter of an hour of your day, and that can easily be done by the pool or on the beach. Then you can take a dive as a treat.

I’ll give you my favorite fitness apps that help you with the exercises. You can relax even more while enjoying your margarita and penne arrabiata.

7 min Workout

12 exercises (which are very well described with pictures) that you do for 30 seconds each. You do the exercises quickly one after the other, which really gets your heart rate up. You can also create schedules for yourself, and all your activities are saved, and your progress is recorded. That is very motivating. And hello, a full-body workout in 7 minutes!

Yoga Studio

Maybe not a very cheap app (€ 3.59), but you will have a lot of fun with it. You can choose from 65 types of yoga and meditation classes that you can watch on a video. Everything is perfectly explained and is therefore easy to follow. You can choose from different levels and classes of 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Perfect for early mornings on the beach.

Runkeeper

I find this the best app for jogging. It's very simple, you press start and it keeps track of how far you go, how long, how fast, and where you run. At the end of your run, you can see exactly on a map which route you have run. You can also take a photo, and it will be saved in your running history. It's fun if that’s somewhere on the beach in Koh Phi Phi or along the coast of Barcelona. It’s also possible to set goals for yourself and create a running schedule. When it’s time to cover some kilometers, you’ll get a reminder for that too.

30 Day Ab Challenge

I find this very handy. You press the number of the day you are on and immediately see what you need to do. Every day is different or a bit more, so heavier. Once you have completed the exercises, you press the checkmark. After thirty days, those blocks on your stomach should really be visible. And also fun, you really won't be busy with this for long.

Pedometer with Pedometer powered by runtastic

On a city trip, you will be surprised at how many kilometers you actually cover. With this app, you keep track of how many steps you take. If you have a lazy vacation but still want to cover a certain amount of kilometers for yourself, you can just set that. When you achieve your result, you get a cheerful tone.
