5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GO OUT NOW

I am typing this piece in our brand new backyard on an even newer lounge set. I haven't opened a bottle of white wine yet, but whether that will still be the case at four o'clock, I cannot guarantee. In my search for company, I also lured Josselin and Jet outside (it wasn't very difficult) to write a little something together for everyone who might not be their own boss and does not have an outdoor space. You all need to SNEAK OUT of your office garden NOW. Say that you have more ideas in a quieter place, that you have a conference call and that it is simply easier to conduct it at your quiet kitchen table, that you need to go to the doctor/dentist or whatever, GO!

And then you do this.

Go to Timbuktu in Wijk aan Zee and order an ice-cold lemon lemonade there (before you start on that white wine, that is).

Take the Uber, or bike, or taxi to Pllek Amsterdam. It is a creative outdoor garden by the IJ where a strong Wifi connection is booming, so there in the sun, on the pier, by the water, with your laptop you will come up with that idea the world is waiting for. You are both good and tanned.

Hire a whisper boat. They are everywhere, but Giethoorn is the place to be when it comes to whisper boats. Type it in on the Internet and you will find a whisper boat near you. Bring along some unroasted nuts (to minimize your guilt), bottle of Veuve (for a strong seize-the-day factor and because otherwise with those unroasted nuts it becomes very responsible) and off you go.

Go surfing in Bloemendaal, for example at Rapa Nui. Rent a board, book a lesson with a nice surf dude. Even if you can't surf, go there. There is plenty of deliciousness that will help you with pleasure. Especially the afterglow in the evening sun is the best, and with a bit of luck, a band will be playing tonight as well.

You have now taken the first step and you know what, you might not care at all. Ask for tomorrow off as well. It might just be the last beautiful weekend of the year. Throw your favorite bikinis and a nice pair of jeans and hoodie for the cooler evening in the trunk and drive to Zeeland where you have rented a house on the beach. www.slaapstrandhuisje.nl It won't get much better than this.
