6 reasons why I'm a fan of coconut
Recently when I shared my three favorite winter breakfastswith you, I received a few comments about coconut. That it's not as good for us as we think. Let me start by saying that everyone should of course do what they feel like. You don't have to use coconut in dishes. You can easily make a buckwheat pancake in olive oil. Just as tasty. Or use almond milk instead of coconut water in your smoothie. Look, I leave the peanuts in a bag of mixed nuts too, even though you read everywhere that they are really good for you, but they don't make me happy.
Let's summarize the benefits of coconut. Do with it what you want, but I've never felt worse because of it. In fact, slimmer!
– Coconut contains healthy fats. You need fats for energy. It's that simple. – It is good for your skin, hair, health, and creating a killer body. It is very high in fiber, lowers your blood sugar levels (so less chance of candy cravings) which helps you feel full longer AND it stimulates fat burning. Should I go on? – Your metabolism is stimulated by the fats in coconut oil – Coconut is very easily digestible – Coconut oil contains caprylic acid and that is very beneficial for fungal problems like Candida. Sounds a bit creepy, but many people suffer from this. – Good, and I haven't even mentioned the taste yet. Delicious. And the only thing I can think of that is a bit unfortunate is that it's quite expensive. More expensive than olive oil or butter. But I believe I can live with that.
