With an Aperol to kick off the weekend

We're going to do it a little differently this week. Not a real cocktail that we drink at the bar with a shaker boy, but a perfect drink to welcome the weekend. Namely, an Aperol Spritz. And we're doing that tonight at Stadscafé van Mechelen on the Sloterkade. Convenient, because it's just around the corner from AmayzineHQ.

Now I love a bit of fancy hospitality where you actually have to wear high heels, but I'm also happy with a brown pub. Nice in my new Nikes.

Van Mechelen is actually a beer café, perfect for your date, I prefer an Aperol. And there's also an extensive menu with small bites. Chicken wings, stockfish croquettes, or a good bitterball from Grandma Bobs. Nothing wrong with that.

If the weather is still a bit pleasant outside tonight, there's space outside, but inside it's also particularly spacious and cozy. Large bar, open kitchen, wooden tables and chairs, candlelight, and very friendly service. The crowd is very mixed, young, with no fuss or hip nonsense. Exactly what I'm in the mood for right now.
