WHAT WE SAW: BEAUTY WISE
Josselin is of course our undisputed beauty queen and normally I wouldn't want to interfere in her affairs, but Joss, if you allow me, I would like to meddle a bit with a beauty issue. Because here's the thing. If there's one trend in hair & makeup to point out, it's that there's hardly any hair & makeup at all. As in, most shows have models walking the runway with a natural look. No heavy smoky eye, no striking colors, no dramatic blush, none of that.
The look is basic, natural, healthy, and radiant. Here and there a bit of concealer to cover up imperfections and maybe a tiny bit of foundation, but that was about it. No mascara, no defined eyebrows, and definitely no eyeshadow. Just some gloss on the eyelids or, as with Hervé Léger, a thick line of eyeliner as an accent.
Then the hair, that too is falling loose, elegant, natural, sometimes even a bit frizzy and above all very cheerful and happily swaying with the rhythm of the models' walk. Exceptions aside, of course, Marc by Marc Jacobs had a hairstyle with buns, at Diesel it was pulled back tightly into a ponytail, and at Dvf there was indeed a lot of makeup, but still with the intention of appearing natural.
So, you know what you have to do. Invest in good creams and make sure your skin is suitable to face the outside world without makeup.
