COUNTDOWN TO THE FINAL…

A week from tomorrow is the Final of Holland’s Next Topmodel. And that’s no joke. If you win, you get a contract with Touché Models and earn at least 50,000 euros. You drive home in a Renault Twingo (and you get to keep it) and you appear on the cover of Amayzine.com.

No matter how much Debbie, Aïsha, Nicky, and Sanne like each other, that night it’s going to be tough competition. May the prettiest win. On this day, finalist Debbie takes you to her day at Touché Models where she received a day of modeling lessons.

“I’m already fairly fit in terms of my figure. Because I’m on the shorter side, 1.74 is not really tall for a model, I’m mainly being taught stretching exercises that will give me more length. I tend to develop short, strong muscles where long and slim are naturally the key words for models.”

“In the new office of Touché Models on Vossiusstraat in Amsterdam, everything is being done to help us. Because having the right height and measurements is not enough. It’s important to achieve that in a good way. Not eating is not an option. That’s why there’s a sports and nutrition coach, Dennis, who helps us.”

“For example, I warm milk in the microwave every day and then add oatmeal. Dennis has now taught me that all the important nutrients disappear then. From now on, I’ll just warm my milk the old-fashioned way in a saucepan.”

“Eating well is very important. That’s why Dennis also gives us cooking lessons. He did the grocery shopping, I got to cook. It’s happy, healthy, and very easy. If I had made it at home, I would have added some more vegetables like cabbage or bell pepper.”

Debbie’s happy and healthy model meal:

Chicken breast in cubes

Red onion

Coconut oil

Coconut milk

Apple

Curry powder

Forra (rice substitute)

Sauté the onion in coconut oil and then gently cook the chicken until done. Grate the apple and mix it in. Add some coconut milk and sprinkle everything with curry powder. Prepare the forra (rice substitute) as indicated on the package and mix everything together.

Voila, your model meal is ready.
