NEVER GET OFF THE COUCH AGAIN

Now that summer is taking its time to arrive, nothing is stopping you from lounging on the couch for an entire afternoon and continuously hitting ‘next’. Indeed, it's time for a binge-watching day. Make sure to have plenty of pillows, a comfortable loungewear outfit, a blanket to snuggle under when it gets too intense, and of course, enough food, snacks, and candy.

Orange is the New Black

The wait for season two took a LONG time, but about two weeks ago, Netflix released s02 in its entirety online. While producers usually release only 1 episode per week, this time the feast was available in one bite-sized chunk. This means that many have binge-watched the entire season in one go, and rightly so. Orange is the New Black tells the story of Piper, who suddenly finds herself in a women's prison due to a silly mistake from her past. The series is honest, funny, touching, and incredibly addictive. Perfect for binge-watching.

Borgen

Our Josselin is in the middle of season three (episode 5 to be precise) of Borgen and “can't wait to watch another episode.” She just has to wait a bit because she's watching with her husband, who is quite busy with the World Cup right now. See, damn World Cup. In Borgen, we see Birgitte Byborg, the sympathetic Prime Minister of Denmark. A lot of intrigue, cunning & deceit, and scheming political games will definitely keep you glued to the couch.

Breaking Bad

The series of series, those who haven't seen Breaking Bad don't count. Walter White is a chemistry teacher who discovers he is terminally ill. A surprise baby is on the way, a teenage son already at home, and his wife is doing quite well but doesn't earn enough to pay the upcoming hospital bills. To prevent them from falling into financial trouble after his death, Walter decides to build a career as a meth dealer, together with Jesse Pinkman, a dropout from his class. Of course, no one knows what Walter is doing, not even his wife, and the initially small and clumsy meth deals grow to unimaginable proportions, with all the consequences that follow. Again, those who haven't seen Breaking Bad are out.

Damages

When the first season of Damages landed on my doormat, I didn't go outside for three days. I seriously canceled appointments for it. Damages is about the harsh lawyer culture, and the protagonist is a lawyer who sometimes likes to push the boundaries of what is acceptable. A strange murder, odd financial matters, lies, and deceptions – this series grabs you, spits you out, and doesn't let you go.

 New Girl

This is one of those series where I have had to laugh out loud so many times. Laughing with sound and everything. When Jess's boyfriend cheats on her with another woman, Jess has to find a new place to live. She ends up in the apartment of three single men, Nick, Coach (who is later replaced by Winston), and Schmidt (you will especially grow to love Schmidt). Jess is played by Zooey Deschanel, and you can hardly go wrong with that.

 Prison Break

It aired in 2005, and I'll tell you, it's still really fun now. I'll tell you something else, I've seen all the seasons twice already but recently started again with s01, and it remains really exciting. For those who have been living under a rock, Prison Break is about Lincoln Burrows, who has been sentenced to death for a murder he didn't commit. His brother Michael Scofield gets himself imprisoned in the same prison as Lincoln with the goal of escaping together. Good plan, but it's not that easy, and they need over 4 seasons to truly be free from all the institutions that would rather see them behind bars or underground.

 Sex and the City

Well, it can't be missing from this list. Here in the editorial office, everyone has seen every episode, but still, it never gets old; we can keep watching it.
