The week starts with critically reviewing the September issues that are trickling in from now on. We still have to wait until August 25 for Harper’s Bazaar (and oh dear, the rumor is so huge that Lara Stone will be on the cover of both Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar) but on Monday Vogue and Elle were already in attendance and Liesbeth started the battle of who has the best September Issue. Who won? You can read that here.

We manage to do this far too little, but every now and then having a coffee with Jetteke van Lexmond is always inspiring and great fun. She is very busy with all kinds of cool styling projects and selling their jewelry LexmondversusLexmond. Of course, she is a bit restless about the arrival of her little nephew who will be here very soon.

For our September Issue, I interview the agents of the major Dutch modeling agencies. I visited Freek Koster from Touché Models. Their office on the Herengracht will be moved to the Vossiusstraat in a few weeks, so the boxes were stacked meters high.

On Thursday, I had lunch in the garden of Lions Noir with Sarah Keller from Paparazzi Models. This restaurant is kind of their second living room because it is really within walking distance (that’s really very close) from her office. Lions Noir serves real model portions, so I ordered that bulgur salad with grilled vegetables in a large size. And I hang on Sarah’s every word because I love her and in another life, I want to work with her. Oh yes, on the way back, I cycled through the PC Hooftstraat and suddenly bought two pairs of shoes.

Friday is fabulous Friday, so I treat myself to a rendezvous with Agnès, my dear friend with whom I have made beautiful magazines for years (first La Vie en Rose and then Marie Claire). Keeping in mind the motto ‘combine the useful with the pleasant’, we catch up while enjoying a pedicure. Ah, actually, we are combining the pleasant with the even more pleasant. She has only forgotten in the midst of all the coziness to give me the September issue of Marie Claire. So I’ll buy that. Nice little task for the weekend. As long as I stay away from the PC.
