Because January is the ultimate detox, diet, and I'm-getting-back-to-sports month, Amayzine likes to keep you updated on the latest tips and tricks in the fight for a slim and healthy body. And recently we came across interesting advice from British personal trainer to the stars, Matt Roberts, who says it's important for women to look at what body type they have and to determine how and what to train based on that.

What was it again about those body types? Generally, the female body falls into one of the following four categories; pear, apple, hourglass, or rectangle. Instead of every woman doing the same exercises in the gym, this trainer gives specific exercises that bring out the best in your body shape. So pay attention!

Pear

Women with a pear-shaped figure carry most of their weight around their hips and buttocks.
Who?
Rihanna
Beyonce
What should you do?
Intense interval training. This gets your metabolism going and burns fat. Additionally, strength training for the upper body is recommended to give more definition to arms and shoulders.
What should you not do?
Strength training with the leg and glute muscles. This will likely only make this area bulkier. Instead, try to create definition through squats (our favorite!) and lunges.

Apple

Women with an apple-shaped body have long, slim legs which are their biggest asset, while the derriere remains modest. There is more volume in the upper body and arms.
Who?
Melanie Griffith
Catherine Zeta Jones
Drew Barrymore
What should you do?
Interval training and long-distance cardio. Focus on exercises for the abdominal muscles and try to build up the lower body with strength training.
What should you not do?
Do not work with weights on your arms and shoulders.

Hourglass

Known for their curves, these women have full, round breasts and buttocks and narrow waists.
Who?
Kim Kardashian
Lara Stone
What should you do?
Running and other cardio activities. Try to train the whole body with circuit training.
What should you not do?
Try not to get rid of your curves, but work with your roundness by creating more definition. Also, pay close attention to your nutrition, hourglasses can easily gain weight.

I am a huge fan of the plank

Very slim ladies with narrow busts and buttocks. Little definition in the waist.
Who?
Keira Knightley
Kate Hudson
What should you do?
Try to get enough calories so you can build your muscles and create a bit more curves.
What should you not do?
Limit cardio to a minimum and focus on strength training for muscle building and shaping.
