In a carriage

This afternoon we got a taste of what it feels like to be a princess and I can tell you, it feels damn good. Because that was the case. Jet, intern Lisa, Felice, and I got to take a ride in the carriage from Tiffany & Co, which had been brought from Paris to Amsterdam for two days. Including beautiful white horses. Once we arrived at the Tiffany & Co store, we browsed the displays with a glass of champagne in our hand (for our fit girl Jet, of course, a cup of tea) because a little princess drinks at 1:00 PM her first glass of champagne, you understand that.

After the bubbles, it's time for the real party, the carriage. We get to know the white horses and the coachman and we are truly squealing with excitement. Of course, we had practiced waving well in advance and as we ride, we immediately put that into practice. We take a round through Vondelpark, wave to all passersby, are probably now in ten thousand photos of strangers, and above all, we felt like absolute princesses. The funniest part was perhaps that everyone was so enthusiastic about waving back, “I've never felt so famous!” Jet exclaimed.

With pain in our hearts, we leave the carriage when we are back at the P.C. and with a lovely blue bag with a Christmas gift we hop on the scooter back to the editorial office. The waving was well practiced and I had to hold myself back from waving to everyone while sitting behind Jet, because that might have been a bit strange. All in all, it was the best Friday afternoon of the year and we would prefer to hang our bikes on the willows and only travel by carriage to and from the office from now on. So if anyone has such a thing on offer, you know where to find us.
