Irene is about to embark on an exciting time. We know her as a model, presenter on many different television programs, and of course as an actress in, among others, Onderweg naar morgen, Baantjer, and Rozengeur en wodka lime. But now she is up to something fun...

 Irene, we haven't heard from you in a long time! How come?

Well, actually I've always done a lot of things. But I have been less frequent on television, that's true. I've been busy writing, I've done major interviews for LXRY Magazine and also created television items for it. And I was also busy searching for the best way to create the most beautiful jewelry.

Let's delve into that last part. You have designed your own jewelry line, we want to know everything!

I can't say too much about it yet, as the launch is only on December 8. But I have found partners, and one of them is a designer. Together we looked at what I find beautiful, so that it consists only of items I would want to have myself. It's called Irene van de Laar by Casa Jewelry. The collection is called The Metropolitan Collection and will consist of a bangle, earrings, a necklace, and a ring. The entire collection will be available for purchase from December 8 at all flagship stores of De Bijenkorf.

 There are many famous people with their own jewelry line. What makes yours unique?

I have used a very good quality silver in combination with an amber-colored stone, but also with materials like onyx and enamel. It is eye-catching. Additionally, these are pieces of jewelry that you don't just throw in a box when you take them off. It's chic and really something for eternity. It also has a somewhat artisanal quality.

 With such a busy schedule, you must be ready for the weekend. When does yours start? And is it with a drink by chance?

The weekend already started last night! The first half of the week I was very busy, but last night I had a lovely long dinner and could sleep in this morning. And indeed, my weekend started with a drink. Namely, a nice bottle of Barolo during dinner!

 Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?

Tonight I will take it easy, but tomorrow I am going out to dinner with friends at the Foodhallen. On Sunday, I will work on an interview for a magazine with Fedde le Grand, the DJ.

 And will you be eating in the hall at the Foodhallen or in the brasserie next to it?

I think we will make a combination of both. First a drink in the hall and then a bite in the brasserie.

 What time does your alarm go off on Monday?

At 9 o'clock. Christian time. I have a very busy few weeks ahead, my birthday is on December 4 and of course the launch is on December 8. Busy, but fun!
