MORNING RITUAL

“Every morning I turn off the alarm at least three times. Eventually, I wake up far too late and have to get myself and my four children dressed, fed, packed, and into the car at breakneck speed. So I'm not a morning person, and my morning ritual is very limited. I take a quick shower, wash my face with the cleanser from my own Uncover Skincare line, then use the toner and apply a bit of exfoliant (that's a low-dose peel that effortlessly removes dead skin flakes that dull your skin and cause pimples). After breakfast, I also apply my moisturizer and possibly sunscreen. Then I have 5 minutes left for hair and makeup. Luckily, I love natural looks, so just a bit of foundation, shaping my eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss, and I'm ready to start the day!”

RED CARPET ESSENTIAL

“My best beauty tool is a jar of pure Vaseline. What do I do when I have something important the next day? I apply moisturizer to slightly damp skin in the evening and then layer on some Vaseline. The next day, my skin looks radiant and the fine lines are gone. Vaseline is the champion of hydration. And for those who think that using Vaseline causes acne, Vaseline does not clog your pores.’

“The Perfect Vanilla from Lavanila. I get it from America, and it not only smells good, but I also really like that it doesn't contain phthalates.”

NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT

“I always forget everything. But I really can't go out without my iPhone. Even if it's just to check if there's a new, nice vintage bag or clothing item on the Vestiaire, designer vintage, or Etsy site. I'm a little bit addicted…” 

NICE BEAUTY PURCHASE

“It's a modest purchase, but I can (almost) recommend it to anyone over 30. Vitamin A acid is actually the only cream proven to have skin-rejuvenating effects, and it also protects against sun damage. You have to use it carefully, and you need a doctor to write you a prescription.”

“Every few months, I do a peel in combination with a laser treatment. This keeps my skin nice and even, and small vessels and pigmentation spots disappear like snow in the sun.”
